MANILA — Yassi Pressman admitted she was nervous and bothered for a time by rumors romantically linking her to her onscreen partner Coco Martin.

In an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” that aired Friday, the “Ang Probinsyano” actress was asked for her reaction to her name being brought up in connection with Martin and the actor’s link to another actress, Julia Montes.Martin and Montes, who were frequent onscreen partners for a time, have long been rumored to be romantically involved, although neither has gone on record to confirm their status.

Having worked together with Martin three years now, Pressman described her co-star as a “really, really good friend.”

Responding to her being tagged in the relationship of Martin and Montes, Pressman said: “In the beginning I was a little nervous, kasi hindi naman po talaga ako kasali.”

She also laughed off speculation that her closeness with Martin was among the reasons Montes has been on hiatus from showbiz and living abroad.

The interview did switch to a lighter topic, particularly Pressman and Martin’s shared fondness for pet snakes. The actress even introduced her own to host Boy Abunda, resulting in amused reactions in the studio. Watch below:

Knowledge Channel upholds Pinoy values in Bálay Pinoy 2024 school caravan

MANILA — Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) celebrated Filipino core values and their significance to today’s youth through its Bálay Pinoy School Caravan, in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

In a press release, it said that KCFI and NCCA brought the two-day caravan to the students of Pedro Guevarra Elementary School in Binondo, Manila and Jose Rizal Elementary School in Pasay last November 14 and 15, respectively.

This year, more than 700 learners participated in the Bálay Pinoy events, contributing to another memorable and educational celebration of Values Month with the Knowledge Channel Foundation and NCCA.

The event was hosted by Kapamilya singer-host Marlo Mortel, and it also featured performances from singer-songwriter Daniel Paringit and ventriloquist Ony Carcamo, a multi-Palanca award-winning writer. Their  acts showcased the wonders of Filipino culture and core values to young students.

KCFI vice president Edric Calma expressed his appreciation for the Bálay Pinoy School Caravan, stressing that Knowledge Channel remains committed to integrating values into its educational programming across various subjects.

“We always make sure to integrate values in all the educational shows that we produce, even if it is for Mathematics, Science, Araling Panlipunan (AP), Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), or Physical Education (PE). We are happy to have a month-long celebration dedicated to Filipino values led by the NCCA because it brings focus to this important topic,” Calma said.

NCCA’s deputy director Marichu Tellano emphasized the importance of Bálay Pinoy and the celebration of Values Month for Filipino youth. She highlighted the role of education in instilling essential values from a young age — furthering their holistic development.

As a gesture of gratitude, KCFI and NCCA presented a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library package to each school visited by Bálay Pinoy — providing offline access to over 1,500 video lessons, learning resources, and session guides aligned with the Department of Education’s curriculum.
